| Lorna C. Newman | 11/26/03 | Can't wait to see the photo! How did the top fit you in the bust area? I know it added a shelf bra, but did you have enough ease or not? |

| Kim Winson | 11/30/03 | Hi Lorna! The top fit me very well. There's only a slight amount of extra ease built into the pattern--most of the ease is accomodated by the stretchiness of the fabric. The pattern suggests 2-way stretch fabrics with lycra--it worked well for me. HTH. Kim |

| Pam Zufelt | 12/1/03 | Looks like the contrast bindings on your suit are from the same fabric as the suit, right? Is there swimsuit elastic encased in this binding? I'm a little confused about where the elastic is applied. |

| Kim Winson | 12/2/03 | Hi Pam, Yes, I used self-fabric bindings. The elastic is encased in the binding--the fabric of the shoulder strap is wrapped around the elastic and the excess is trimmed. A pair of applique scissor comes in handy when trimming the excess close to the stitches. The fabric on the straps is rippled when NOT worn (the fabric lies flat when worn)--this may be my own inexperience in working with this fabric or it may actually end up like that. Does anyone else have that problem? HTH! Kim |

| Pam Zufelt | 12/3/03 | Thanks Kim, for the info. about the elastic. I thought that was the case. Your suit is very cute on you! Not the easiest project for a beginner. Nice work! |

| penelope | 12/3/03 | It's amazing what you accomplished as a beginner. The fit is wonderful. |

| Kim Winson | 12/4/03 | Hi Penelope, I guess I should update my profile!! I would call myself an advanced beginner at this point--there are still a lot of things I don't know. Thank you for the compliment! |

| lornakismet | 6/11/06 | I like this tankini. I think that it is one of the styles that I could look ok in after I lose more weight. This concept of sewing a swim suit might be established for you, but for me it is Something New. -LornaKismet (Lorna A.) |
