I love your skirt! I just made this one in a print, too. I think the gathers look weird on mine, probably since details tend to be lost in a print. This is a great pattern though, it's very flattering!

@Joan1954, thanks! I don't know if this is the correct way to do it, but I eliminated the gathers by pinning the excess material horizontally (basically shortening the length of the gathered section). From there, I took tracing paper and traced the front and back sections all around the seams. This created the new pieces, and it seemed to work!

Nice! I LOVE your swallow fabric. How exactly did you remove the gathers? Is there a long (sleeve-cap shaped) curve that can be trimmed back on this piece?
