I am almost finished with this pattern myself in the dress version. I have a pear shape. the yoke I made smaller so I didn't look like I had bat wings. I had to round out the shoulder seam so it would lie flat. I made a medium and tapered to an extra large at the bottom. It is too much fabric so I am going to take some of it out. it is too bulky with the lining for that much room. I wore a belt with it and I think it looks pretty good. Dont' give up on it because you are a pear. make a belt with it and maybe you can salvage it.

I can't enlarge your photo. Thanks for this review. I have the pattern, but have not cut/sewed as yet. I may do this in a knit as you suggest. Don't be afraid to try sewing some knits. I think knits are easier to sew than wovens.
