| Pattern Description: This is a pattern for capri pants, shorts, a top and a dress. I made view D, the capri pants: pants have patch pockets with elastic casings, mock fly front, and buttoned waistband... cargo pockets, flaps, and casings with self drawstrings, lower calf length.
Pattern Sizing: Available in sizes 7 to 14 and girls' plus sizes 10.5 to 16.5. I made a size 7 straight out of the envelope and it fit like a girl's RTW size 7.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, I think so.
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were just fine. Even the fly instructions were clear and easy to understand.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the cargo styling, length and the cute elastic detail on the front pockets. I really have no dislikes, but when I make these again I may add a button or velcro to the flaps on the cargo pockets.
Fabric Used: Light pink cotton twill from stash.
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: I didn't make any fitting adjustments. I added a rhinestone applique to one of the cargo pockets to bling things up, and I substituted pink grosgrain ribbon for the self fabric drawstrings. I also double topstitched the pockets, flaps, and side seams. You can see detail pics of the pockets, casings, and applique here on my blog.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I plan to make another pair out of pink and green camo. I might try the shorts, too. These are so cute they make me want to try making a pair of cargo pants for myself!
Conclusion: A cute, relatively easy pair of pants perfect for summer right on into the coming school year.

Pattern with more than 5 reviews! << Previous Review Next Review >> | Reader Comments | | morzel | 6/23/09 | Very good looking pants! I love the details (elastizised front pocket, the rhinestones). | | * * * | | Clareew | 6/23/09 | These are beautiful, well done. | | * * * | | merry-one | 6/23/09 | Love them. How is the crotch length on the pattern? I've had problems with other patterns being way too long -- Grandpa pants my DD calls them.
| | * * * | | angie.a | 6/23/09 | These are so cute! I love the bit of bling, and the elasticized pockets. You should definitely make her a few more! | | * * * | | amyf | 6/23/09 | you have convinced me to get this very cute pattern! | | * * * | | cgHipp | 6/24/09 | I have this one in my stash - thanks for reminding me how cute it is! | | * * * | | kim*brown | 7/12/09 | Very nice, I just made these and have to review, but my daughter wears a 10S RTW and I made the straight 8, and they are still huge in the waist on her. Yours look great! | | * * * | |
