I agree with you that this pattern is good. I have made a few myself. I would add that if you are wearing a top that is not too close fitting, you can leave the waist up. I do this and I am short waisted. I have made a couple with the flounce and they are rather fashion forward and look good. The plain version is so quick and easy.

I have to agree, this pattern makes a great, comfy, knit skirt. I've made it twice, there will be more. Have you made the longer version?
