I am still thinking about getting this pattern in my quest for the perfect shorts pattern. I had similar issues with the McCalls shorts I just made, but I think I have them right after some more tweaking. I think yours look awesome!!!

I like the color and the details, however, I do agree with you on the back issue. It kinda looks like you have elastic in the back waist the way the gather. I was thinking, taking some of the width out of the back pieces, vertically, without altering the top back, if that makes sense. You can still get use out of these though. I have this on my sewing list too so thanks for the review, it was very helpful!

don't know if you've fixed these shorts or not as its ages since you posted this review, but you need to take more out of the CB seam line as you don't have enough bum to fill it out.... try pinning it out first to see if you are happy with it (or tacking if you don't like the sound of pins!) from the photo I'd guess it needs an extra 1/2" out of the bum area tapering to nothing at the waist? Obvisouly this is not the usual way to fix this issue, but should be enough to save this pair, so to alter the pattern itself so you have a perfect fit for future pairs, follow Anne Rowley's flat seat adjustment instructions - http://artisanssquare.com/sg/index.php/topic,2106.0.html other than the bum issue they look like a great pair of shorts, & I think you've done a great job on them!
