I agree with all the other posters; another A++++++ job with the stripe shorts. Your workmanship is amazing and you look absolutely great in these shorts. Enjoy with all the hot weather we're having.

I agree that you're the Queen of Matching Stripes and a lovely queen you are in your new shorts! I love the soft stripes (very sohisticated look) and think they look great with each of the tops. Annette is a masterful fabric-picker, and you always seem to know just the right way to use your fabrics. Another AAA+++ job!!

Well, it didn't take you long to WHIP OUT ANOTHER PAIR in record time after your vacation (even if you did have a head start)! I LOVE these and would have NEVER thought of SHORTS for this fabric. They're PERFECT. I'm NOT so sure they may not be my FAVORITES, but as I pull up each picture, I say that about all of them -- ha! And what tune is your mom singing NOW??? She can't sing Stars and Stripes for this one! So what's NEXT on the agenda? Inquiring minds want to know!

As usual, they are just perfect-o! BTW, Ottobre wasn't published in English until the 1/2003. Have fun on your trip! :-)

Shorts #2 are amazingly cute. And aren't you a whiz at making them. Your workmanship is just excellent in these 2 stripe pair and you look so good in the shorts. Enjoy wearing them.

Well, you're going to have a lively vacation with your mom bursting into song every time you put your shorts on :-))!! These are adorable in spite of what that little fashionista Claire has to say! Very funny. Have a great time at the lake!

Version 2 is JUST AS CUTE AS Version 1! (Is your Mom still humming Stars and Strips Forever)? These look like the perfect shorts for a vacation on the lake. :o) GREAT JOB with those stripes again, too. :o)

These are great! Perfect for summer vacation!!! How fun! Odd thing is, I had a pair of shorts out of fabric similar to the first pair you made, but they were purchased. I wore them out. Hope you enjoy these as much, they fit great!

Oh these shorts take me back to the "olden" days of the 70s, LOL, including the "mom jean height"! So cute on you!

Hé hé hé ! On an old maid, these would be "mom's jeans". On you, that is called : high rise. That's trendy, more than low waist actually, and you wear that beautifully !

Wow! What perfection in matching those stripes! Were you born a genius or just have a great teacher? Whichever, you should be so proud of your seamstress skills...everything you make is nicer than RTW!!! These are really cute. Have a wonderful vacation at the lake.

Amazing look short, as everyone has said. Your stripe matching was perfect and is the fit and styling (in spite of the Mom jean waistline and ooooooolllllllddddd fabric. LOL, but they are adorable!!!!

Here's the translation my Dutch friend sent back: Hi! The length of the blouse en the sleeves are 'trendy' short. The collar is easy to make with the help of the illustrations.

Meggie- great shorts! yay for your stripe matching ability:) I have no doubt that if you revisit this pattern, you can figure out how to lower the waist! they are very cute on you.

This are so cute even though they are "Mom jean height"....too funny. You did a great job!

Meggie, your shorts look great. Enjoy your vacation. What I get from that piece is this...(parents Dutch) The length of the blouse and sleeves are trendy short. The collar is made easy with the help of the illustrations and (aanwijingen) indications. (I think that might be narrative or something similar) Sigrid, Help!!!!!

Super cute - mom's jean's height or no LOL!!!

Lol about the "mom height jeans." My girls call any high rise pants "mom jeans." I don't wear mom jeans and I'm a grandma. :) Nice job on the shorts, Megan. They look great.

Yeah, what do you mean by "MOM Jean Height"? Inquiring minds want to know! Love ya! Mom : )
Annette1 said... (7/12/09 7:43 PM) Reply
WHAT do you mean by that "MOM JEANS HEIGHT" crack? And WHAT do you mean by REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEALLY OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD fabric? These turned out SO cute, DESPITE the MOM JEANS HEIGHT and the OOOOOOOOOOOOLD fabric. GREAT job on lining up those OOOOOOOOOOOLD stripes. :o) That darn Kay beat me to the translation, but I DID get a LITTLE more out of the second sentence. This is what Google gave me: "The length of the blouse and trendy Mouv is short. The collar makes you germakkelijk using the illustrated instructions." GREAT JOB!
Peggy L said... (7/12/09 7:22 PM) Reply
I know someone who speaks Dutch so I'll ask. The shorts look great and very RTW. Like Karla, I am developing a complex. Do you ever sleep?
Catbird said... (7/12/09 7:21 PM) Reply
AWESOME shorts! Your stripe-matching is expertly done and the construction and fit is perfect. And this is even more awesome because you were looking at Finnish directions!! Great fabric, too. Fantastic new shorts for your vacation.
Kay Y said... (7/12/09 7:19 PM) Reply
Intertran ( thinks it's Dutch, not Finnish (and it does look like Dutch to me). The machine translation says "The length with the blouse and the mouven is trendy short. The collar make you germakkelijk with obliging with the geillustreerde pointer". Obviously it's not perfect :) However your trendy shorts are trendy short!
Karla Kizer said... (7/12/09 7:16 PM) Reply
Okay, MLL...I'm developing a complex. Do you ever make a wadder, or does every single project you tackle look good? ;-)
