I hear you about the facing on knit patterns. It is not a very good option to use with knit, in my oppinion. did I spell that correctly?

very cute neckline detail, and I think it would look nice sewn down as you suggest to control the facings. I liked your idea of catching them in the side seams, and might give that a go myself next time I have that knit dilemna
