| Pattern Description: Top with a gathered neckline.
Pattern Sizing:XS-XL
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow?Very easy.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? It was very easy to make, I will give them that. I didn't like how billowy it is. In my book, the only time I want to look pregnant is when I'm actually pregnant. Maybe I'm a little vain like that. If you click on my creation picture, it should take you to flickr so you can see what I mean.
Fabric Used:Silk Chiffon
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made:I didn't use the facings provided with the pattern. The silk chiffon I used was kind of sheer, so I lined it with black silk chiffon. I originally tried lining it with black batiste, got all but the hem done, tried it on, and realized it had too much body and wouldn't let the chiffon fall like it should. So then I pulled out my serged and sewn seams... and used silk chiffon instead. For the lining, I just cut out the plain black silk chiffon using the regular pattern pieces. It was very easy to do.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? No. I will not sew it again. For ease of construction, I would recommend it to others, especially beginners who like this kind of top. I would strongly recommend against using any fabric with too much body, unless you actually are pregnant. Then it would be just fine.
Conclusion: Easy to put together, but not my cup of tea.
(P.S.--a commentor said that the picture was hard to make out. Sorry about that! I don't know how to fix it here, but if you visit http://www.flickr.com/photos/23170194@N07/3782375508/in/set-72157621924408850/ there are bigger, better pictures. Hope this helps!)

Pattern with more than 5 reviews! << Previous Review Next Review >> | Reader Comments | | Patzee | 8/3/09 | For some reason, your photo is very small so it's difficult to see just how it looks on you. Sorry you're dissapointed with the style. It seems like a cute top and from what I can see the fabric looks very nice. | | * * * | | jilly cooper | 8/3/09 | thank you for your honest description. | | * * * | |
