| i'm dispensing with the template since this pattern has been so thoroughly reviewed already . . . but i wanted to give something back after poring over so many of the reviews submitted by others, so:
this was great! probably the best thing about the pants is that they really do work for yoga; i was worried that i'd bust stitches or find the waistband uncomfortable. i made the XS, and while they are VERY snug, it's in a good way, not a yucky one. i think if i were to make these for lounging, rather than for actual yoga, i'd cut the next larger size.
the rayon-poly-lycra doubleknit i chose worked very well. i had difficulty finding a bottomweight knit with enough stretch, but it turned out great.
this is the first thing i've made on my own, though i've sewed a couple of things under the watchful eyes of teachers. i'm sure this is due to my inexperience, but i actually had some difficulty with the waistband; i'd never sewn through elastic before. for one thing, i'm not sure i got the right kind of elastic . . . as many have, i used wider elastic than called for in the pattern, but when i bought it i didn't think to ask for any certain kind and just got whatever came off the roll that was 1.5" wide. the first waistband i tried looked terribly wonky, so i ripped it out. i'd had an awful time trying to stretch the elastic while sewing so that it matched the length--or circumference, really, i guess--of the waistband. i felt like i was manhandling the waistband and feeding it under the machine very irregularly, and that's sort of what it looked like when i was done. the second time i tried making both the elastic and the waistband the same circumference as the top of the pants. i'm pretty sure this isn't the RIGHT way, but it seemed to work--the pants are easy to pull on, sit nicely and firmly just below my waist, don't budge during yoga, and there wasn't any of that crazy stretching of the elastic while sewing that got my knickers in a twist the first time around.
so! first project down, many to go. thanks to the prior reviewers for helping me get my head in the game . . . | Buy this pattern for $11.49 Add to Bag |

Thanks for letting us know your experience with it. | | * * * | | sockiboo | 8/4/09 | you're nice to say; it hardly adds anything to the discussion, this one is so well covered! but i was surely grateful for the access to everyone else's experience. | | * * * | | sockiboo | 8/4/09 | eep. duplicate. | | * * * | | Mebber | 8/30/09 | Congrats on this project. I appreciate knowing they actually work for yoga - this is what I have been trying to find out! Namaste. | | * * * | |
