| Pattern Description: Misses' fitted blouses have V-neckline, collar, bust darts, back waist darts, and front button closure. View A has three-quarter length sleeves finished with facings and wide ties attached in side seams. View B has shawl collar, short sleeves with elastic rolled into casings, and back ties attached in waist darts.
Pattern Sizing:XS - XL
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes Blouse
Were the instructions easy to follow?Yes, I found the Kwik Sew instructions to be very detailed and easy to follow. This blouse went together very quickly. I did not find the faced split cuff to be a problem as some other reviewers, but you do need to sew and clip carefully to get a good result.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The pattern was well drafted - all the pieces fit together well. I like the dart shaping and the slight curves to the side seams.
The pattern has 1/4" seam allowances which I didn't think I would like, but found they eliminated trimming and saved time. Next time, I think I will add to the shoulder and side seam allowances to allow for french seams for a more finished inside. I used the Bernina overlock foot #2 to overcast the narrow seams.
Fabric Used:Cotton broadcloth batik print that has been in my stash for 15 years.
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: I edge stitched all the seam and edges. I cut four ties and sewed them together instead of doing a narrow hem to give the ties a finished look on both sides.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I would highly recommend this pattern for both beginning and advanced sewers. Next time, I will make it in a solid color cotton/lycra fabric and perhaps go down one size.
Conclusion: I bought a RTW blouse from Coldwater Creek this Spring with the wing collar and found it very flattering, so I bought this pattern. I love the wide waist tie for interest and hiding tummy bulge. I think it will look equally good with jeans or a business skirt or slacks.

Nice job. | | * * * | | Derbygirl | 8/29/09 | I saw this style at Macy's in white cotton stretch, so it's very in-style. I like your version.
