| Pattern Description: Men's Shirts are designed for lightweight woven fabrics. The Men's Shirts have a double yoke, patch pocket, and shirt-tail hemline. View A has a collar with a separate collar stand, full-length sleeves with cuffs and sleeve plackets. View B has a collar with stand in one, and short hemmed sleeves.
Pattern Sizing: S-XXL. I made size L.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like the nicer details that are more like RTW than most of the Big 3 patterns - sleeve placket, cuffs with angled corners, etc. I find KS patterns fit well and I like the 1/4" s.a. better than 5/8". The neck sizes are also indicated on the pattern. I found this to be helpful info.
Fabric Used: Cotton shirting - white with very fine blue stripes. The shirt reads as blue.
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made:
*I liked that they included a separate placket like RTW as opposed to the continuous lap placket that is usually included in patterns. However, after reading through their instructions, I thought I might have a hard time getting it to look good. Instead, I used instructions from Threads Magazine #139. I'm very happy with the result..
*The sleeves seemed like they were going to be too short for my tall husband. After measuring some shirt sleeves in his closet, I added 2" in length. This was too much - 1" probably would have been sufficient.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I will be sewing this again. I like sewing men's shirts. I would recommend this pattern.
Conclusion: More info and pictures on my blog.

Again, excellent sewing job. | | * * * | | gatorgirl4325 | 8/31/09 | Very nice shirt! | | * * * | | katie lynne | 9/1/09 | Super Shirt! This looks just great on your hubby. (I agree with you about the sleeve length--you could probably cut off that inch!) Now that my husband needs a personal seamstress replacement (his Mom passed away :-(), I've got to get up and running on men's shirts and shorts. Your work is impeccable. I'll bet you'll win a blue ribbon! What a lucky husband... | | * * * | | khurtdvm | 9/28/09 | Very nice! I like this one - maybe I'll have to pick it up for my husband. | | * * * | |
