| Adding my second pair- this time the full length pant. I love them just as much as I thought I would
I didn't change anything about the pattern except to add one inch to the pants length. The envelope gives a 30" finished inseam, and I prefer 31". I made a size small. Back view
In the spirit of all the great activewear RTW companies, like Athleta, I made a matching top so that I would have a "yoga outfit". I made Jalie 2804, the crossover top with the ruched front. I do like the finished set! Front view
I tried a sample of this supplex fabric in my embroidery machine- and didn't get that to look very nice. Has anyone else had success embroidering on very stretchy knit??
Pattern Description:
Misses Yoga pants/capris a tops Pattern Sizing:
xs-xl. I chose to use size Small, just based on comparing the flat pattern to my RTW yoga pants. I didn't even need to lower the waist- it was perfect as is. It sits about 2 or 2 1/2 inches below my belly button. The front is scooped out a little and is lower than the back waist. I can see from the photos that they are pulling at the thighs (mine are pretty muscular and built up from running)- next time I will add extra SA to the front leg only at this area. They are perfect everywhere else. Front view Side view- with my dogchild Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
No, b/c I shortened to above the knee. They look alot like my inspiration shorts, though! Were the instructions easy to follow?
Extremely well written and easy. This is the first Kwik Sew pattern I have ever used and I am very impressed! This pattern had many positive reviews which definately influenced me on which yoga pant pattern to try. I am so glad I picked this one- I love it. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
These were just about the easiest and fastest item I have made, ever! It rates highly on great instruction, too. I had never used a waistband treatment like they suggested, but it worked perfectly and looks very RTW. I am extremely happy with the finish. I did use slightly wider elastic- 1/2" instead of 3/8", because that is what I had on hand. Fabric Used:
A fantastic Supplex high perfomance knit from fabric.com.
I bought a couple of colors a few weeks ago when it was on sale to try out. I wasn't so sure about it when I opened the box, but once it was washed, I could see it was terrific! I highly recommend it- it is just like the high quality, slightly sueded feel active wear knit from RTW. I am so glad I ordered it! Can't wait to make up more shorts/pants/capris. Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made:
The only change I made was to shorten the length to shorts- My inseam length on these is hemmed to 11". Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Absolutely!! I can't recommend it highly enough. Easy and great looking. Conclusion:
I am in love with these. They feel heavenly and look just like expensive RTW performance clothing. These are going on vacation to China with me

This pattern is on its way to me so it was fun to read about how easy the instructions were. Enjoy wearing these on vacation! | | * * * | | Raye Ann | 9/16/09 | thanks everyone, for the nice comments. sewme- i sent you a PM, but I used maxi-lock thread for both construction and coverhem, used 80/12 needles on seams but had trouble on hem. switched to 90/14 needes, much better result:) | | * * * | | Heidi Ho | 9/16/09 | Those are great! | | * * * | | marec | 10/27/09 | Raye Ann, these look terrific on you, and I love the matching top.
