| Pattern Description: Zip front jacket with side panels and pockets. Side panels and facings in contrast fabric, View A has stand up collar, View B has hood.
Pattern Sizing: Sizes from XS to XL, Bust from 31.5 to 45 inches.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? I made up View B in size XL and mine looked like the pattern drawing.
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were fairly easy to follow although I had to jump around because the instructions for View B would have you go a few steps, then refer to a step from View A so I was flipping back and forth, which I dont like. For all the extra it would take I think each view should have complete instructions in its own section - just my personal opinion.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I really like the two tone effect with the side panels in a contrast colour. I also like both the stand up collar on View A and the hood on View B. I made up View B and I love the way the zip encloses you right up to the chin and the hood is a really good design. click here I see myself wearing this through fall and again in the spring, our winters are too cold for a light jacket like this, but in the fall wind and snow, this jacket with the hood will be nice and cozy!
The pockets are in the front panel seams, there were no instructions for stitching the pockets in place and I did not like them flapping loose on the inside so I hand-tacked them under the edge of the front facing, stitching through the pocket seam allowance. This worked well. This was my first experience sewing with fleece so I followed the instructions but I have a feeling there might be a better way to sew the zipper without so much bulk. After the zipper is inserted you are instructed to top stitch from the bottom of the zipper up around the hood and down along the other side to the bottom of the zipper. I found with all the bulk from the jacket and facing that I could not get as close as I would have liked to do the topstitching.
Fabric Used:I used a fleece I bought on line many years ago (I am on a mission to use up stash fabric) and I think it might be a bit too heavy for this pattern, even though the pattern suggests polarfleece, berber fleece, heavy fleece.
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made:Just stitchign the pockets down as I mentioned above.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?I think I might try this again in a lighter fleece, or some other fabric and I will do some research about sewing with fleece to see if I can get a better result.
Conclusion: This is a nice pattern overall and I think offers some nice colour blocking options for a not so RTW looking fleece jacket.

I made 2 grown up and 6 kids versions and yet I haven't made one for ME yet! Seeing your review has inspired me to plan one for myself. I also agree about the instructions, having to look all around and jumping here to there for them is a PITA! | | * * * | | Sewnknit | 9/28/09 | Very pretty! | | * * * | |
