| Pattern Description:
Inverted box pleats are stitched closed over the hips to form a type of yoke, then open out unpressed to flare the skirt. Hip yoke pockets with a triangular opening are set in below the hips. Pattern Sizing:
Burda sizes 36 (hip 35 1/2") to 44 (hip 41 3/4"). I made size 40 (hip 38 1/2") Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes - even though I think I should probably wash it and give it a good press after sewing it. Were the instructions easy to follow?
Instructions were good for Burda. There is a workshop in the magazine which details how to make the pockets. This was very helpful. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love the pockets, the pleats sewn to form a yoke (it holds everything nice and firm - always a good thing!).
Nothing to dislike about this pattern. Fabric Used:
A poly viscose bought at Bargain Box Fabrics at Ipswich (Qld, Australia) for $14.95/meter. Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made:
I made no alterations to the pattern but did add a tab inside the zipper. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would sew this again. I would love to get a lovely border print and try View A. I highly recommend this pattern. Conclusion:
A lovely skirt - my only fear is that it looks a bit like the skirt of a local High School uniform - but I don't think anyone will confuse me with a school girl!

Based on your review, sounds like a winner! | | * * * | | brissie71 | 10/3/09 | Gorgeous skirt. I'm hearing you about being on a quest for 'basics', however, your basics seem way more intricate than I could ever hope to sew. :-) | | * * * | |
