Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Not really. I omitted the pockets and added ruffles.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
I didn't look at them.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
The shape of the pant was good and it fit my daughter.
Fabric Used:
100% Cotton - Marcus Brother's Porcelina Collection. This fabric worked well for the pants. It doesn't get overly wrinkly and hangs well.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I didn't really pay attention to the height measurement on the pants because my daughter is pretty short, but she was 5" taller than it so the pants came out way too short. So in an effort to save them. I cut out a 4" by 24" pieces of fabric. Sewed the short ends together, then folded it in half long ways and gathered them on the ankle for a ruffle. They are still a tad short. I'll make her wear them a few times before I retire them and save them for my other daughter.
For the waistband I finally figured out how I like to do an elastic waistband. I take some 1" wide elastic and sew the ends together to make a circle. Then I serge the elastic onto the pants trimming off just a bit. Then fold it over and top stitch the elastic with a twin needle. It gives a fairly professional look. You need to use a stitchable elastic in order to do this. I used a knit elastic and it worked great. Woven elastic does not work.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, I am going to make some more of these, but will add some length beforehand.
Conclusion:
Simple pattern that can be made in an hour or less.
