Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Other than a few aesthetic modifications (such as off-the-shoulders) that my wife requested, the dress looked pretty much like the pattern photo.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
For the most part. I had to read some of the steps over and over until I could visualize what that part was supposed to look like. The drawings were sometimes too small to be of much help. And one step called for the wrong side to be pinned together, while the drawing showed the right sides together. Fortunately, the correct procedure was obvious.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked that it was a great way to learn many sewing techniques and it made a beautiful dress.
Fabric Used:
I used a variety of fabrics, including two colors of cotton broadcloth, one for the bodice lining and underskirt and one for the sleeve lining; two different upholstery fabrics, one fore the main green in the dress and one for the mustard colored panel at the front of the underskirt; felt backing for the underskirt and canvas interfacing for the bodice.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made the shoulder rolls fall off the shoulder by not attaching them to the back of the dress below the sleeve. (My wife requested this look.) I used slightly different sized laces and ribbons. I cheated on a few seams that called for hand slip-stitching by using identical-colored thread for machine sewing.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I wouldn't sew it again because I conquered this challenge, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and would whole-heartedly recommend it for others.
Conclusion:
A great way to learn to sew and my wife loved wearing the dress for Halloween and is looking forward to next year's Ren Fair season.

Looks great! Ironically I made this pattern in the same green fabric as you did.
I agree about the pictures on the instructions. I often found them to be more confusing than helpful.
Oh my goodness this is just gorgeous! You did a tremendous job. I've always wanted to tackle a pattern like this but haven't quite gotten the guts! LOL!
