Lovely cardi! I like the front drape.

You and I seem to have similar body types (add 20lbs for me) and I made a cardi in a similar style and I was left with the same impression as you. As long as the gathers were placed down the middle of my body, it seemed ok. After trying to wear it several times I made my mind up to donate it, my husband however likes it. FYI I made the same style of cardi with a drape that went lower than the hem at the centre and it looked better.

I think it really looks nice and is fine for your figure. It just skims over the body and flows nicely. There are so many of these cardi patterns, I need to check my stash and just make one.
