Sometimes those naughty fairies get in the sewing room and we just can't do anything right; the harder we try the worst it gets!!!! Good thing you overcame them and were able to complete the pants! I've had the "More Fabric Savvy" for 6 months, I don't sew anything without consulting it, even for fabrics I've used before--it saves lots of tears and seam-ripping time.
