the handle join does work well with lighter weight fabric. It is tricky to imagine, though

I didn't mean to imply that there is a problem with the pattern. The technique for joining the handles is a bit tricky, but I think it would work on fabric that is not as heavy as what I used (upholstery weight twill).

Good explaination of the handle fix. Great fabric choice and love the paisley, but I can see how the heavy fabric made the handle issue more difficult. Have you sent Trudy a message about the handle issue? She responds quickly and I know would be interested. I usually communicate with her via her Facebook page.
