I can't see your photo very well, but your jacket does look nice. As for felting, I wouldn't bother, but do like the style of the jacket.

I'm intrigued by your felting after sewing. Makes sense. The jacket is a bit sack-like, and I can see how it might have better shape if allowed to dry on the body. Doesn't sound like a comfortable process, however!

http://picasaweb.google.com/107334638896480841204/Vogue843002#5470806458167848706 larger photo. I recommend doing this on a warm day. It was a little clammy, but people stop me on the street to ask about it. Which made the whole thing worth it. There's some great boucle out there and wool jersey. I'm going to make it again in a charcoal or navy for fall.

Lovely. Thanks for the link to the larger photo, as the blanket stitch can't be seen from the little one (though it's clear you've done something nice to the edge). I'm a little edge-fixated because I made a muslin of this pattern out of fleece and my spouse said (nicely) "Might I recommend hems?" I can't follow the felt-on-body instructions, though, as my real project is for a sister who is a different size. Yours turned out very well, which is inspiring. Oh--based on the muslin, I agree with your suggestion to make the front and back the same length.
