Something to think about, although honestly, no one's going to notice the pocket in such a great-looking pair of jeans. 5/12/10 2:08 PM

I made jeans using this pattern with a denim that had some lycra so it was a tad stretchy. This can be a good fabric choice on a design that fits tightly. The fabric makes adjustments where needed. Also on traditional denim it does the same thing, which is why they fit so tight when you first put them on, but they loosen up a bit when you wear them.
By the way, Cousin Kathy might like to borrow them and wear them with stilleto heels and a dressy top when she goes out clubbing. 5/15/10 6:16 AM

There's a couple of solutions, the easiest is to attach pocket lining to the fly front which then makes tension all around the body. The pocket is pulling because it provides a gap in the horizontal tension of the hip and pulls at that point. The curve of the pocket is also deep enough and angled to let this happen. I have made up this pattern in kid sizes. The pocket gaping doesn't happen because there's no tension on it because they wear them slung around their knees. 6/3/10 12:32 PM
