I like your organizer! On my sewing machines, the zipper foot was either a middle one, and you adjusted the needle position either right or left. On my new machine, the zipper foot can be switched to a left or right position, depending on which cross bar you attach it to. If yours is one that just hooks on and only stays on one side, you might check online to see if anyone sells "lefty" zipper feet for your machine
