Hey, wow, I'm sewing this today and yes, I totally agree about that 5/8 inch. What is that about, anyway? I thought the same thing: why not just draft the pattern with that reduction. Also, I agree about the design elements such as the collar. The basic pattern pieces change sizes but the design elements do not. I think to keep things in proportion, everything needs to change. You've made some great points; at least I don't feel like some kind of weirdo for wondering about these things! I do like your top . . . and I like mine, too, but I'm wondering about maybe just leaving off the twisted things.
