Oh wow, I'm surprised you don't love this -- without the bubble hem you can see this skirt's full potential, and it's very unique and classy. Maybe the draping problem was mostly because of the type of fabric you used? (And to get more gathering, couldn't you just remove less of the gathering the pattern has already?)
