This pattern consists of 4 different styles of tops with different sleeve options - no sleeve (with cowl neck), dolman (with v-neck) , kimono-style (with boatneck) & butterfly (crossover front). they are all interchangeable though. back view sleeve off the shoulder
The husband is traveling for work at the moment so I will get him to photograph me in this number when he returns...it looks better on me than it does on Poppy!
Pattern Sizing:
6-18
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Instructions were easy-peasy. For anyone more advanced than a beginner/novice, instructions are really not necessary - yes, its that easy.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked the different sleeve options. I liked how casual this pattern looked...appealed to the 'jeans & a-little-more-than-a-tshirt' side of me.
Reading some of the previous reviews first, I knew that I didn't like the 'stand up' the collar trim made so i left that out but more on that later.
I also liked the boat neck finish...On me, it falls off the shoulder, thats kinda what i was hoping it would do so im not fussed by this.at.all.!
Fabric Used:
This was a piece of fabric from my South Africa stash. Its a single stretch knit in a dark blue-ish purple with a patterned burnout design...
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
As mentioned above, I chose not to add the neckline trim as it looks like in other reviewers photos it stands up for some reason, so i omitted that & finished the neckline off by simply folding over once & twice & stitching with a stretch stitch. Simple & easy. I finished the sleeves off this way as well.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes definitely. Im looking forward to making at least another 1 of these or the other options.
Conclusion:
I cant stress this enough, but this pattern is so super easy anyone could sew it. Honestly, its that easy. It took me a couple of hours to finish up & its really flattering on..providing you use the correct fabric. Anything stretchy & drapey will work well with any of these designs. Its a winner.
