Very good result! I like to use ready-made straps and stuff too, but it is good that there's at least one pattern out there that explains how to do without, in case you are ever stuck without any access to good notions.. I also think nonstretch cups are good. You can buy from elingeria a sheer but very firm lining which is very good to stabilize cups. Basically imho this lingerie lycra is good for people with up to B cup, if you need more support you do well to switch to powernet back and nonstretch cups, in which case the lycra becomes purely esthetic and can be skipped. As to the pattern, I think you may find much better support if you put some totally firm interfacing in the center part/bridge, and probably narrow it a bit as well for yourself from your photo. That alone makes a huge difference..

I also like non-stretch cups. Duplex or bias cut cottons work well. Foe support and nice shaping I suggest the bravobella bra pattern from Needlnook fabrics or one of Beverly Johnson's patterns.

Your bra turned out great. I used this pattern for my first bra, and, well, although it looked nice, it didn't look that nice on. I agree, there is something odd about the shaping of the cups. Not flattering in my opinion. I need to get back in the bra making mode and try some other patterns.
