| gorgeous | 10/7/04 | I notice the pattern only goes to 38C - I'm a 38D (wear a Petite 10/12 top). Would normally never try a Bra, but your review was so positive - I'm going to buy the 38C pattern and try to adjust the cut to a D. This will be one of my "winter weater" projects. I'll be watching to see if anyone has any ideas on eliminating the center front seam . Thanks for the review. |

| cindyann | 10/7/04 | Sarah, The only thing I can think of is to pin together the upper and lower cup pattern pcs on the seam line, fold out any fullness and cut as one piece. This would give you NO contouring at all in the cup though. You would just have a flat piece of fabric. If you used a very stretchy fabric it might work for a very small bust. Have you looked around for a triangle style bra? Do you like those? I've been meaning to get this pattern for a long time. I'm fairly small too! Does it give a nice shaping to the bust?

I've had rtw bras that had a dart for shaping - it fit better than a centre cup seam but it sorta gives a pointy boob look! |

| KathleenS | 10/8/04 | The pointy boob look was probably because the dart was too long - the dart point shouldn't go up to your point. Making it yourself you could adjust (shorten) the dart to fit. |

I don't mind a little padding, think of it as much the same as the fleece and interfacing we use in tailoring to help garments keep their shape. Anyway, I found this link today as I was working my way from one sewing site to the next. The author of this blog is a bra maker who explains some of the needs of the A cup or smaller. You will find the section on this topic about 1/3 down, but the rest in also interesting.>>>
