What a cute doll. Never heard of Gene??? Love the dress. I have sewn more doll clothes this year, and I must say-- I also dislike the velcro. What ever happened to snaps- too hard? Great work!

Wonderful dress! I love the press on jewel "buttons". I wonder if the snaps are a liability issue -- maybe the sew-on snaps have disappeared from ready-made doll clothes too, for fear they will fall off and kids will eat them? Or maybe Simplicity thinks they're just too difficult (to sew and/or fasten)?
