What a good idea to use the selvage as piping. I take it there was no sewing to create the piping--just used the fluffy selvage. Some selvages are quite interesting--I always pay attention to them because they do suggest certain uses. Recently I folded one like bias tape and used it to make a drawstring. Very cute skirt.
