The pink skirt and plaid pancho make a classy outfit! I wonder if you had let the skirt hang a few days before completing the slit might have helped avoid the sag above the slit. I'm assuming that that is what you are alluding to when you say the slit didn't hold up very well.

Very cute outfit. I am 59 and still have some of my mom's fabric, and my grandma's. ahahahha. For the crease in the fabric, do a google search, but I found if you mix up vinegar and water (different articles use different proportions) and spray it on the crease then iron it out. I would test it first and then only do it on the wrong side. Hope this helps.
