Great idea, great job, but thinking pink for the next one? Add some piping in a contrast and now your talking! :) How heavy does the pouch get if you've got it fully loaded? Does it drag your belt down? Thanks for an interesting review

Interesting! Seems like you've designed a very clever and useful piece here. :)

I don't usually comment on non-commercial pattern reviews, but your review/blog was wonderful. My son is just starting competition and I wondered why the magazines were oriented long side to the body as well. Excellent solution. Thank you so much.

Five loaded magazines are a little weighty -- so you don't want to hang it on a standard dress belt. I have a heavy 2" belt designed for concealed carry (I can carry a full-sized 1911 with no trouble) and the magazine belt works fine.

I'm not into guns but this is some amazing sewing where the real-world use totally drove the design of the magazine belt. (I opened the review wondering what kind of print magazines from 1911 you were conserving.) Great tutorial and great example of function determining form. Also, you could probably wear two--one on left hip and one on right--if you wanted room to expand number of magazines you carried.
