Nice job on the vest and bow tie! And your cousin is just a doll! Did you make her gown as well?

I was just wondering if your pattern instructions told you to cut out 4 of the back piece for the lining. Mine does and I really can't see why is would be necessary. Also, is there any way you could describe how to complete the last step for sewing the vest (start 2 inches above arm seam...). Thank you so much!

Hi Sarahewell83 - I forgot to talk about how I constructed the back. I cut two fashion fabric and two lining for the back. I prefer fashion fabric for the vest back instead of lining. The pattern instructs you to cut four lining because two will be used for the back. When I join the side seams. I started sewing two inches from the armhole of the lining, making sure the seams were even. I sewed from that point to the bottom of the vest side seam. Once at the bottom, I continued around to the lining side sewing as far as I could go. The remaining opening on the lining side, was stitched together with the raw edges turned in for a clean finish.
