Oh Ann, your jacket is gorgeous (how appropriate!) My version is still waiting to be made. Am curious about the Simplicity fit. To date, my Simplicity sewing has been on unstructured garments and I recall someone mentioning tight arms on this jacket. Was that an issue for you?

Wow - absolutely stunning jacket and fabric! Was quilting the jacket to the lining your idea or was that a suggestion in the book?

Nice! A fresh take on the Chanel jacket. Funny how they keep coming back in style. Has anyone made this from the pattern instructions alone and had it turn out well? I doubt if I will have time for couture techniques.

Ann, I can see why you love your jacket - it's lovely! I don't have access to the book, unfortunately - did you quilt lining and yardage, or each piece separately? It looks like you used facings as well - would it have been possible to line to the edge without facings? Thank you for including all the pictures.

I love your jacket, you did such a wonderful job. The fabric is stunning. I'm so happy you wrote this review, I've wanted to make a Chanel style jacket for a while with some authentic "Chanelisms" but I couldn't find any good images. I love your fabulous details, the lining is to die for. You mentioned the book which just happens to be sitting on my bookshelf. Thanks so much, this will help alot.

Well done Ann, the fabric is to die for, and I see that you like doing the extra finishing touches(hong kong) etc. Those close-up' s are always a nice touch. Gorgeous Thing? Absolutely!

Hi Ann, Thanks for such a good review on a very inspiring project. I've got this pattern as well as the Claire Shaeffer book...now I've got your great example to inspire and help me along with the details. I was thinking I had to eliminate the facings in order to do the "Chanel quilting" , etc. But your jacket looks so beautiful with the facings and Hong Kong finish. Thanks so much. Your jacket is beautiful! Now I've just got to get going on mine! Liz H

Gorgeous! Amazing! Stunning! I love it, love it, love it. I am pretreating my fabric to make this very jacket at this very moment, so your review is quite timely. Thank you so much for all the detail and great pictures. I'm also planning to use the techniques outlined in Claire Schaeffer's book, and it's great to see someone else do it with such successful results. You've set the bar very high! PS LOVE your custom tag!

Just wanted to tell you that the jacket is lovely (as well as that stunning fabric!)!! I really enjoyed reading about how you used the Chanel quilting techinque; I've been dying to try that for some time. ;)
