To get ribbing to hug your neck, stretch it little tighter in those areas when you are applying it. Smaller radius curves need a bit more pull. I have a you tube somewhere on www.clairesews.blogspot about applying a neckband with out measuring and Sarah Veblen with Threads has a similar one, except she measures.
