Second garment finished! The gauchos (Butterick 5681 review here Click Here)...I love them.

February 3, 2013:

Well it has taken a long time for me to get back to my wardrone but I am determined to make it,. So the first garment is finsihed
Vogue 8731 see review hereClick Here

This is my composite review for the Mini-Wardrobe Contest for 2012. Hope I chose the right contest when I set the review up.

I bought a bright Red-Orange Jones New York Jacket last Fall and have only worn it a few times because it is RED-ORANGE. So this contest is the perfect opportunity to make some things to go with it.

I plan to make three tops and one pair of slacks and one pair of gauchos as follows:

Top #1: Vogue 8597 in an ITY "watercolor" beige, red and brown print
Top #2: Vogue 8731 in a red orange/brown Geometric ITY knit
Top #3: Here I have the fabric but not necessarily the pattern. I am going to use an orange, brown, gold and olive floral polyester charmeuse. But I am not sure of the pattern yet...perhaps Vogue 8668 or Butterick 4811...but this could change!
Slacks: My TNT slacks pattern in a brown stretch twill with an orange stripe.
Gauchos: Butterick 5681....okay so the additional piece has become the first one that I am sewing. I will have to edit down and right now I am thinking the charmeuse top is the one that will come out of the wardrobe...but still not sure.

Thanks for the review, because my being a noobie to the contest, I now have an example of how to lay out my composite. And those colors will look fabulous on you! The orange is a knockout

I like your jacket red orange, this makes me think that sometimes I buy one piece, or make myself one piece and it is lonely, nothing to wear with it, just a white shirt. This is a great idea, thank you & good luck!
