I made view C Pattern Sizing:
I graded a size 12 to 14 Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Generally yes, but I changed around the pleats because I sewed two pieces for the front. Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, but I'm still an amateur with pleats and I found making them symmetrical was difficult What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I was cute once together but I didn't like that the pleats did't go all the way to the side seams. there is a large flat area on the sides and I think it would have been nicer if the pleats went right to the edge. Fabric Used:
Cotton, I bought the recommended amount of fabric but I forgot to calculate extra length because of the asymmetrical pattern. When I went back there was no more navy! so it is half navy and half black and if anybody asks it was intentional! Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I added pockets . I think every thing should have pockets. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
This is actually the second time I made it. The first was a disaster becuase I cut it super big thinking It would be nicer if it fit lower on my waist. It did not turn out nice. the proportions were off and it fits dangerously low. This current version, I followed the fit guide and it turned out fine sitting right on my waist. Conclusion:
I like the final out come, but I need more practice with pleats before I revisit this one. |

It's adorable! Pockets are almost always a good idea. I have this skirt in a UFO phase, so I may add pockets. Also, regarding no pleats near the hips, I've noticed this trend on other patterns. I'm thinking specifically of a gathered skirt pattern, and I think the intention is to keep extra fabric/fullness off the hips. My theory, anyway.
