| I love this pattern-all the pieces! I made the jacket twice, and the skirt once. I am in the process of finishing the dress. All of the seperates in this pattern are very flattering and easy to sew.
The skirt was a little big for me. But, I don't have hips and that is usually the case for all my patterns. I am a little top heavy-DD, so the top was tight. For the dress, I added more room and also took out the zipper. I used a four way stretch jersey for the dress so that it could slip over my head instead of zipping along the side.
I think the top and skirt look like the drawing. What do you think?
This is a great pattern for beginners and advanced sewers alike. Easy directions, and looks great.
I am a fan of ruching. I think this pattern works well for my busty bust- to have a little ruching on the side shapes up this very nicely. I think it is one of those styles that works just about on any figure, though, no matter your size! It is a flattering and comfortable.
I used several different fabrics for the pieces. For the jacket and skirt, I used a wool jersey. For the dress, I used a synthetic jersey- it was very light and loose weave. I am not sure what it is, though. For the top I used an Italian cotton jersey that is our of the world colorful and soft.
Like I mentioned earlier, I took out the zipper when I made the dress. Just make sure to add room around the bust for bigger cup sizes. The same pattern is used for the top- just a different hem. You could eliminate the zipper there, too. Next time, I am going to try it for sure with a different jersey with four way stretch.
So, look for updates in the near future. I may change up the jacket. It is kind of boxy, but a simple pattern that could be adapted and many possiblities for changing.
If you want something that is feminie, and shows the curves-this pattern is for you! Thanks for reading
