The 1/2 strip of fusible interfacing on the shoulder seam can be fused and would be when you go to press the seam after sewing anyways so your okay with that. I like to press the seam over so you can't see the stabilizer, I try to place a tiny bit beyond where you stitch so not much sticks out beyond the stitching. I measure for exact placement, I know it's fussy but it looks better. Also using the bias of you interfacing matches the stretch nicely but I do use straight of grain clear stay tape too, either way it helps stabilize.
Thanks for all the pictures, makes for an interesting review. 10/27/12 10:25 AM

Margaret said... Very nice! Love the print and I think it looks good with the gathers. I think a strip of self fabric on the straight grain might work as a stay, too, instead of twill tape. If you made it the entire length of the CF, that might be safer on knits that happen to have any vertical stretch (on such fabrics, twill tape might hold up the flat part of the seam visibly differently from the rest of the top). 11/1/12 11:22 AM
