It just seemed like I needed some on hand for a handbag or hat . . . inspiration so often strikes when stores are closed! Looking forward to your pics. 1/27/05 11:34 PM

I can't thank you enough for the tip on the Peltex. I'm heading out to Joann's today! Can't wait to see pictures of your bag. 1/28/05 6:19 AM

GaSouBelle said... Yeah...i'm on a bit of a binge as well. LOL. I love her fabrics. I ordered a yard of about 10 different prints...Yikes. So I've got a lot of purses to make. I'm almost finished with the Velma bag. I'm trying to figure something else out for the closure. Don't like the velcro & the magnet pulls a bit as well...as posted in the other review. It's cute but bigger than I expected. I'm not much of a purse person...but with all these cute designs...I can't help but become one. I prefer either small bags or Totes that hold everything without being too large. I'll try to get the pictures up this weekend. 1/28/05 8:28 AM
GaSouBelle said... Just an update: I've been playing around with the boning I purchased. I'm definately going to add it around the upper edge & maybe sides of the Madison bag I am working on for my friend. It gives it much more shaping and support across the top. Mine still sinks slightly in the center after a day of use, but not much. To be expected with any soft handbag. I'm surprised at how well it's holding it's shape. It doesn't lose it's shape much, but I'd like to see how the boning holds everything up. 1/28/05 9:15 AM

GaSouBelle said... Thanks...I have some really great ones I haven't posted yet. I'll post soon...I hope. My digital camera is shot...and I'm the worst at getting film developed. Everyone is flipping out over my bags & can't believe I made them. Frankly...I can't either. The peltex is the trick. All of my friends have begged for one & my mom has a long wishlist. I've been so busy making bags I haven't had time to write any more reviews. More to come soon. I'm glad I could help. 3/7/05 9:57 PM

GaSouBelle said... I do not fuse the peltex. I just staystitch the peltex to the edges of each pattern piece for the straps & outer shell before I sew it all together. I've found this works better if you decide to wash it later. 6/19/05 10:04 PM
Stephanie C. said... Gorgeous bag! When you used the Peltex, did you trim it to be within the seam allowance? It seems very stiff. I'm making my second A. Butler messenger bag for my mom for Mother's Day and I want to use Peltex in hers. 5/1/06 8:02 PM
