| Pattern Description: Misses' sewing pattern tunic in two lengths with front variations.
Pattern Sizing: Comes in packets with sizes 6-14 or 16-24. I made a size 6, view B. (My measurements put me closer to an 8, but I had read that this pattern had quite a bit of ease, so I went down a size.)
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? It's a good balance between being fitted and a little loose at the same time. It's pretty comfortable to wear... except for maybe the collar.
I'm still not completely sold on the mandarin collar. I wish the top part would relax a little around my neck. I think the pintucks kind of stiffen the top part too. And when I wear this top, I'm constantly adjusting my posture and smoothing out the front of the blouse. The fabric sort of poofs out in front just below the pintucking (i.e., the worst possible place for that to happen. Ha!)
Fabric Used: I used a Valori Wells voile; Cocoon, Shine in Aqua
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I don't love a really puffy sleeve, so I used the top of the flat sleeve (from views A & D) to tweak the sleeve pattern piece. I'm no expert at setting in sleeves (or altering pattern pieces, for that matter), so I still ended up with some gathering, but I like how they turned out.
After altering the sleeves, the cuffs were too wide to fit under the arm, so I made those a little narrower and decreased the seam allowance to 1/4" when setting in the sleeve.
Lastly, I did french seams for most of the seaming on the inside to keep everything really clean. Didn't even attempt anything fancy on the sleeve seams -- I just zigzagged those.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I do like all the details on the top -- it has a professional feel to it. I don't know if I'll make this view again, but I might try one of the others. There are several nice variations to this pattern.

I love this tunic top. I've eyed this pattern a lot but always been intimidated by the pintucks. LOVE your top!

Thanks! The pintucks aren't bad at all! I used an air/water soluble marker. First, I marked the starting and ending points, then used a ruler to draw the straight lines.
