Pattern Description: Misses very loose fitting top or dress; neck band; gathers, button closure, applied casing with waistband and drawstring, stitched hems; long sleeves rolled up and secured with buttons; dress has side pockets

Pattern Sizing: Size XS through XXL

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Somewhat

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like the 3/4 length sleeves with the buttons; I didn't like the fullness and drawstring

Fabric Used: A rayon/crepe print from Trim Fabrics

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I cut a size S for the neck and size M for the rest

I should have cut and XS for the neckline as it runs very wide
The top is very, very, very full and runs short even for me. I made up the drawstring thinking I'd do the casing but after just trying the top on with the belt, it looked hideous on me! It was too full and pulled it up making it even shorter! I actually put in on my dress form and started pinning up the sides to try to give it some kind of fit through the waist. I ended up cutting off almost 4 inches off EACH side!

It didn't dawn on me that with the sleeves folded up that the wrong side of my fabric was not attractive so I ended up putting in a 3 inch hem and folding it up creating a 2 inch cuff. I think it looks better this way.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I doubt if I sew it again. I may recommend it for someone who is tall and not thick in the waist like I am.

Conclusion: The top is wearable and actually doesn't look too bad. NOTE: It runs extremely big and do not shorten the pattern!

It looks totally cute on the dressform-I'm sorry you aren't happy with the result. Thanks so much for this review-I have been working through a number of similar patterns, and found that discarding the elastic or tie waist and putting in a waistband makes it work for me. But why reinvent the wheel?
