More pictures on my blog Pattern Description: Pullover dress with Jacket
Pattern Sizing:8-14
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? No it did not
Were the instructions easy to follow? I did not follow directions. Very simple construction with side seams and armscyes to sew. I also put facings on the front of the jacket. Since the fabric is embroidered the neckline and bottom edge were finished by just trimming off the excess fabric beyond the scalloped embroidery.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Very simple
Fabric Used: Fabric from the Philippines, some type of embroidered organza
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I used the bodice pattern for this sheer jacket. I had to match up the embroidery so that it would line up at the seams. I also drafted a different sleeve that was wider and would accomodate my arm better. I could actually raise my arms afterwards. I used a self-facing on the front edge of the jacket which was two layers from my left over fabric. Having trouble with the front sticking out a little. I will try ironing the edge over a tailor's ham when I get one. All seams were french seams including the armscyes.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? No, I don't think I will be making this again. Simple style and would recommend it to others for an easy oversized jacket.
Conclusion: I'm glad to be done with my first project using my dress form!
