Thank you for the compliments on the dress! I have to say that the hardest part of this dress was the chiffon fabric hem finishing. I had never used a serger before and chiffon is not a "friendly" fabric. I had to practice for several days using scraps of the fabric to get up the nerve to send the curved edges of the overlay through the serger since the serger cuts and finishes at the same time, you don't really get a second chance if it doesn't come out right the first time (which it didn't and there were parts I had to figure out how to do over). I bought a Brother Serger from WalMart online and I have to say I was very happy with it. Any problems I had were due to my lack of experience.
