Need a little bag, wallet, or wristlet? Check out this pattern. It is a Waverly design for Butterick and with it you can do a nice job of creating a practical little bag just as cute as anything Vera is selling - but without the price tag!
I had decided to undertake a Vera Bradley wristlet-hack, but was especially motivated after getting a new phone a couple of weeks ago. I made view F which is fully-lined with a contrast fabric and zips around 3/4 of the bag. It has a wrist strap and back pocket for your phone.
This particular bag would also work quite well for a camera bag for a compact camera.
I added a couple of touches to make my wristlet special - a monogram on the front and contrast piping around the sides. You could easily add in other touches like a key ring or clip if you were so inclined.
I posted a number of pictures (including one of the inspiration project) on my blog: Vera Wristlet hack
