Pattern Description: Children's undies with a modest fit and elastic-free waist and leg bands.
Pattern Sizing: Childrens 2-4-6-8
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, I think so.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, the instructions are well written with plenty of photos.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? the pattern only requires very small amounts of fabric.
Separate pattern pieces for boys and girls, with the option of y-fronts for the boys!
Nothing to dislike.
Fabric Used: cotton jersey for the undies, with cotton lycra for the bands and fly bindings
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I sewed the leg bands slightly differently. The instructions would have you sew the bands to the outside and then topstitch to hold in place. I instead sewed the bands to the inside, and then wrapped the bands around the leg openings like a binding and stitched in place.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I have now made over a dozen pairs of these in various sizes, and plan to make more as requested. Would definitely recommend.
Conclusion: These are my son's favourite undies, and he stalks the laundry pile to be sure he can wear them as soon as they come out of the wash. My younger son also loves the look of these, so will be sewing up more as he practises his potty training!
