Pattern Description: Close-fitting, straight, below hip length tops A, B, C, D, E have front darts, raglan sleeves with length variations, stitched hems and neckline variation. A: neck band and short sleeves. B: neck band and contrast three-quarter length sleeves. C: scrunch turtleneck collar and long sleeves. D, E: mock turtle neck with button closure. D: three-quarter length sleeves. E: long sleeves.
I did View C, turtleneck. I did not have any of the problems that others encountered with this neck style (more on that below).
Pattern Sizing: 8 to 14 and 16 t0 24. I did a size 16.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, except I made mine shorter and my turtleneck might not be quite as scrunchy as the picture.
Close up of neck Neck more scrunched
Were the instructions easy to follow? This is one of the very easiest things I have made so far. But for newbies, be careful to sew the neck the correct direction....the picture makes it look like it should be sewed lengthwise, not the shorter way.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like everything about it.... it is a little too long so I had to cut off quite a bit at the bottom, which I haven't really had to do with other vogue patterns.
Fabric Used: I used a white 95% cotton 5% lycra ribbed knit.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I did not change anything but I did shorten it quite a bit (about 6 inches)
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I will absolutely sew this again in this view and I want to make the other views too. Next one will be View E. I am sure that View C is going to be a TNT for me.
Conclusion: I almost did not make this one after reading the other reviews and the problems with the turtleneck. But I decided that if it came out more like a cowl neck, I would not mind that and at least I was forwarned. So I was surprised when it came out looking pretty much like the picture. I really believe it has to do with the fabric you use. It must be a stable sturdy knit or that turtleneck is going to go all floppy cowl on you.

Love your top. The fabric is perfect for it. I'm looking forward to seeing your version of view E. I bought the pattern for that view but just haven't got there yet.

Nice turtle...I have made view E and like it very much. I could use some turtlenecks though.

Your turtleneck is perfect. I love this pattern. It is one of my tnt's. It is so versatile. I've made some long and some short. Works great either way.
