Pattern Description: "Close-fitting, pullover dresses have neckline/sleeve variations and narrow hem. A: elasticized side seams. D: double-layered collar." I made view B using view A's cutting line for length.
Pattern Sizing: 8-16, 18W-24W. I made a size 16.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes!
Were the instructions easy to follow? Overall, I thought they were great, though I did change a couple of things. First, I decided to stabilize the back neck and the shoulder seams with clear elastic (using the tip linked above). The other change was I went ahead and sewed the sleeves in the flat instead of doing set-in sleeves.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the neckline-- I find this draped look is pretty flattering for me, and that is what drew me to the pattern. And it really is easy!
Fabric Used: A polyester knit purchased from Hancock Fabrics in 2007. It is textured on one side and smooth/slinky-ish on the reverse.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: The only alteration I made was in using a 3/4" seam allowance in the underarm sleeve seam (I accidentally cut a chunk out of my fabric that was a little too close to the 5/8" seam line... whoops!). Other than that, I changed nothing.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I think I will sew it again, maybe the sleeveless version for summer. Or maybe one with the big cowl neck. The variations included in this pattern make it a really versatile one. I definitely recommend it!
Conclusion: I am super happy with my new dress. This pattern is a winner!
