Pattern Description: This pattern really could build a wardrobe. There is a dress, wide leg pull on pants, a jacket and a waistcoat. I made the dress. It is unlined, has two piece raglan sleeves, round slightly scooped neck, front and back darts, back zip, back vent for walking ease.
Pattern Sizing:4 to 16 in one envelope. I made a 12-14 combination.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions are clear and easy to follow.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I like raglan sleeves and wanted a quick summer dress.
Fabric Used:Cotton sateen from my stash.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:Apart from a bit more ease at the high hip the only change I made was to swing the front vertical dart sideways so it finished at high hip. I was not going to put front shaping darts at all but there was a drag line/fold that wanted to be made into a dart so I did it. The dress sat much better afterwards. I did not have much fabric because I originally intended to make it into a skirt, so I finished off the neck with a strip made of bias
stitched, turned to the inside, folded under and topstitched.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?Yes. The jacket looks tempting too.
Conclusion: A quick easy summer dress. For more photos please visit my blog post.
