ETA 12-23-12 Short Sleeve Version
I wanted to add a short sleeve version to this review, I cut it out immediately after the first one hoping to finish in a week since it was the second round with this pattern, not thinking the "Holidays" moved in for the month I kept saying it is okay, it is a short sleeve blouse not to be worn until Spring. No matter drove me nuts, it kept calling me to finish like a noisy mime... something about sewing projects being demanding, this one has an attitude. It is a bit wrinkled I was caring dress form with blouse under my arm all over the house trying to get a good picture, taking her on a toll free trip outside, I hope the cold shut her up. Come spring we will get reacquaint. I really like the way it turned out with the contrast otherwise without it I kept thinking bowling shirt identity crisis because I do not bowl and a permanent trip out the door was it's future.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year Everyone!!!
Pattern Description: Misses' shirt, fitted with A, B, C, D cup sizes
Pattern Sizing: 6 to 20 I made size 10 cup size A view D
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? very good and easy to follow went together without a hitch
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The fitted princess seams and front detail
Fabric Used: Beautiful Rayon chambray from Vogue fabrics
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I did a petite adjustment and a small bust adjustment if that does not tell you how small I am I don't know what would....I added sleeve plackets although the continues bias on the long sleeve version is also a really nice look, I do see that on RTW Ralph Lauren. I took an inch off the length of the cuffs and made two pleats in the sleeve when attaching to the cuffs.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I have another on my sewing table view A short sleeve version. I do love this shirt and consider it a success.
I made the Skirt Click Here is from this Click Here pattern
Conclusion: Back during 911 (we all know what we were doing that day) I was working for a very Fussy Tailor that was old school in a very upscale mens store oh yeah a really nice environment up front. Out back was a tiny workroom that was hot and messy, I would ask Dominique the tailor when he was sewing on the cuffs how he knew when to make the tucks in the shirt while adding the cuffs without marking them. He would say in his Italian dialect "just make them"
Let me tell you he was impossible to please and he thought I was a fate worse then death complaining about my skills constantly by throwing up his arms. I wanted desperately to learn from him. Fast forward to today .... whenever I sew shirts I think of him for he is long gone. He has no idea how is legacy left an impression on me. Click Here Click Here

Well, this is certainly in my TOP FIVE favorite things you have sewn this year, and I mean the entire outfit. I can just feel that rayon chambray right through my monitor! If I looked this cute in a skirt and boots I would wear them daily, even to clean house. You look tall and svelte. I loved your tailor shop story, knowing and teaching are two very different things. Congratulations on this successful sewing project!
